Pipjam is a puzzle game for iPhone published by Nope Games, a games label of CODE PULSE IO S.R.L., Strada Pitar Moș nr. 27, etaj 5, ap. 17, Sector 1, București, Romania, CUI 49983990, trade register J2024008437408 ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: hello@studionope.com.
This policy explains what data the game uses, why, and the choices you have. Plain version: we have no accounts and no servers of our own, we do not see your name or email, and the only third party that receives data from the game is Google, which shows the optional reward videos.
1. Data that stays on your iPhone
The game stores your progress on your device: the levels you have cleared, stars, coins, boosters, skins, the level you are in the middle of, your Daily Run results and streak, and your settings (sound, music, haptics, colourblind eyes, reminders). It also keeps a random install identifier in the iPhone Keychain, so a reinstall can find its own saved progress. We cannot read any of it.
2. Apple services you can use
- iCloud. If you are signed in to iCloud, your progress is copied to Apple's iCloud key-value storage in your own iCloud account, so it follows you to your other iPhones. Apple runs this service under the Apple Privacy Policy. We cannot access your iCloud data. To stop it, turn off iCloud for Pipjam in iPhone Settings.
- Game Center. If you are signed in to Game Center, your scores for the daily leaderboard, highest level and best Daily Run stage, and your achievements, are sent to Apple's Game Center and shown to other players under your Game Center name. Game Center is optional; the game plays fully without it. Apple runs Game Center under the Apple Privacy Policy. To sign out, go to iPhone Settings → Game Center.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, the game schedules at most one local notification a day on your iPhone: a daily reminder, or a note that your lives are full again. They are created on the device; no data leaves it. You can turn them off in the game's Settings (Daily reminder) or in iPhone Settings → Notifications.
- Sharing and ratings. If you tap Share on a result, the iPhone share sheet sends the picture and text you see to the app you pick; we receive nothing. The rating prompt is Apple's own.
3. Ads (Google AdMob)
The game is free and paid for by optional reward videos. A video plays only when you tap a "Watch ad" button to get a reward. There are no ads between levels, no banners and no ads when the app opens.
To serve and measure those videos, the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob) inside the game collects:
- your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt, and other app-scoped identifiers;
- your IP address, used to estimate your general location (country or region);
- information about the ads you see and tap, and how you interact with the app (for example app launches and video views);
- performance and diagnostic data such as launch time, hang rate and crash logs of the ads SDK.
Google uses this data to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, prevent fraud, and measure results. Google may link this data to the device identifiers above; we never link it to your name or any account, because the game has none. Personalised ads, shown only with your consent, are chosen from a profile of your interests that Google builds; this has no legal or similarly significant effect on you, and we make no automated decisions about you ourselves. How Google uses data from apps that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Your consent.
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the game asks for your consent through Google's consent message (a certified consent management platform) before any ad is requested. You can accept, reject or choose per purpose. If you do not consent to personalised ads, Google may show non-personalised ads, which still need limited data such as the IP address for fraud prevention and general location.
- On every iPhone, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asks whether the game may use your advertising identifier to track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the IDFA is not shared.
- You can change your choices at any time: in the game, open Settings → Privacy options (shown where it applies), and in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- If ads cannot be requested because of your choices, the reward buttons are hidden and you can still use the coin alternatives. The game remains fully playable.
Ad content is capped at the PG (parental guidance) rating, and sensitive ad categories are blocked.
4. What we do not collect
- No account, name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
- No analytics SDK of our own in this version.
- No in-app purchases in this version, so no payment data.
- We do not sell personal data.
5. Legal bases (EEA and UK)
- Running the game you asked for (your progress on the device, optional iCloud and Game Center): performance of a contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b).
- Personalised ads and the advertising identifier: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a), given through the consent message and the tracking prompt. You can withdraw it at any time as described in section 3.
- Non-personalised ads, fraud prevention and ad measurement: our legitimate interest in funding a free game, Art. 6(1)(f), where your consent choices allow ads at all. Storing or reading information on your device for ads happens only under the choices you make in Google's consent message.
You are never required to give us personal data. Without consent the game stays fully playable.
6. Sharing and international transfers
The only recipient of personal data from the game is Google (Google Ireland Limited for users in the EEA and Switzerland, Google LLC elsewhere), acting under its own terms for the ads described in section 3. Google may process data outside the EEA, including in the United States, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Apple processes iCloud and Game Center data as described in section 2.
We work only with partners that protect your data at least as well as this policy describes and as the App Store rules require. Google is bound by its own privacy policy, its EU User Consent Policy and the data protection terms it agrees with us.
We may disclose information if the law requires it.
7. How long data is kept
- On your device: until you delete the app. The progress copy in iCloud stays in your own iCloud account under Apple's control; to stop syncing it, turn off iCloud for Pipjam in iPhone Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
- Game Center scores: kept by Apple under its policy. Daily leaderboard entries reset every day.
- Google AdMob: kept by Google for the periods in its policy.
8. Children
Pipjam is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children and is not in the App Store Kids category. The ads in the game are not targeted at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA where that is the age of digital consent, including Romania). If you believe a child has used the game and data was collected through ads, contact us and we will help remove it with Google.
9. Your rights
We have not appointed a data protection officer; the law does not require one for this game. Write to hello@studionope.com for any privacy question.
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because we hold no personal data on our own systems, most requests are answered by the controls above (in-app Privacy options, iPhone Settings, deleting the app). For anything else, write to hello@studionope.com. We answer within one month.
You can also complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro), or to the authority where you live.
California residents: we do not sell personal information. If you allow tracking, Google AdMob may use data from the game for cross-context behavioural advertising, which California law calls "sharing" (section 3). You can opt out by choosing "Ask App Not to Track" and in the in-app Privacy options.
10. Changes
When the game starts collecting new data (for example analytics or in-app purchases), we update this page before that version is released and change the date at the top.
